This is my magazine cover and I chose nintendo Power because I like nintendo games and I have a wii and used to have a gamecube and a gameboy. I like super smash bros a lot so i decided to focus on super smash bros.

Intro to Computer systems questions.

1. What is the tower? - What does it look like? - What is its function?


The tower is the computer case in a computer. Its function is to protect the stuff inside it such as video cards.


2. What is RAM? - What does it look like? - What is its function? - What does RAM stand for?

RAM stands for random-access memory and they are chips used for storage of data.

3. What is a Hard Drive? - What does it look like? - What is its function?



A hard drive stores digitally encoded data on a rapidly rotating disc.
It is another form of storage for data.

4. What is a DVD and DVD drive? - What do they look like? - What is their function?

A DVD is a disc that stores data. A DVD drive is the device used to read or write on a DVD.

5. What is a ethernet cable? - What does it look like? - What is its function?


An ethernet cable is used to connect computers, routers, and modems.
Its function is to carry many signals such as internet connection.

6. What is a motherboard? - What does it look like? - What is its function?

A motherboard is the Printed Circuit Board. The motherboard holds many crucial components of the system and provides connectors for other pheripherals.



7. What is an IDE and SATA cable? - What do they look like? - What is their function?

The IDE cable is the one above and the SATA cable is the one below.
These 2 cables are 2 different ways to connect the hard drive to the motherboard.




8. What is USB? - What does it look like? - What is its function? - What does USB stand for?
USB stands for Universal Serial Bus. It is used to plug in anything such as a keyboard, a mouse, USB flash drives.

9. What is a video card? - What does it look like? - What is its function?
A video card is an expansion card. This could be a graphics card to offer video or other features to the computer.
10. What is a PCI card? - What does it look like? - What is its function? What does PCI stand for?


PCI stands for Peripheral Component Interconnect. A PCI card is used to connect hardware to a computer.

Computer Systems Background Check

I have basic knowledge about computers such as terminology. I've heard about stuff like RAM, and USB. I know about ethernet cables and wireless and video cards. I only know the basics about these things, such as what they do. Also, how to setup your internet and routers.

I want to learn what some of the stuff listed in lesson 3.1 stands for such as IDE and SATA cable and other terminology. I also, wat to learn how a computer works and how to build one. I want to know how to improve a computer such as its speed. I find this unit interesting because I like computers.

Negative Space

This article taught me how useful and what a big difference negative space was. I was amazed with the fedex logo the most as it had an arrow between the E and the x I never noticed. The Peter Ryan logo also looked really good.

This is my CD cover, The band name is T.Z.E.R. and the album name is Mug Tsunami. I think I deserve a 3/4 because I think it didn't end up looking as good as I imagined it would be, because I had some trouble changing the colours of the tsunami/wave.
